The Dinning Sisters started singing in church and performing together since the age of ten. With plenty of ambition, the young ladies left their Oklahoma hometown and traveled to Chicago. They auditioned for NBC Radio where they remained for several years before signing a contract with Capitol Records in 1943. They found commercial fame in the 1940s as a close rival vocal trio in the style of the Andrews Sisters. Their roots lay in the developing Country music of the late 1930s, delivering elegant and pleasing musical entertainment at every level that was then the pivotal element. This laid the foundation for the countless girl-groups that flourished in United States and Great Britain between 1950s and 1960s.
